
Morocco’s leading bank, Attijariwafa Bank, has announced on September 19 that it will build a giant tower with offices and apartments in Casablanca Finance City (CFC). The “Borj Attijari†as it is named will cover 54,750 m².
To this end, the bank which is owned mainly by the royal family launched a call to tender to pick an architect to manage the project. All interested architects must express their interest before October 3, 2016. The four best bidders will receive €100,000 each. Results for the selection will be published next February 8.
Let’s recall that the Moroccan group BCME Bank of Africa also announced in March 2016 the construction of Africa’s highest tower in Rabat, Morocco’s capital. A 65-storey building which will cost $100 million.
More than hundred international firms, including Ford, Huawei, Coface, BNP Paribas Investment, Bank of China, and pan-African Fund Africa50, have already established themselves in Casablanca Finance City to expand across Africa.
